At what has become one of the most popular events of the summer season,  three like-minded charities came together to host the second annual Little Black Dress - with Pop.
Goodwill, the Girl Scouts and the Junior League of Sarasota County joined forces and welcomed more than 220 guests to the luncheon and fashion show at Michael's on East.
Seen at the event were Rosenda Callaway, whose colorful boots earned her a bottle of Champagne for best "pop" of color among guests, Vicki Rollo, Barb McSweeney, Samantha Cummins, Maribeth Phillips, Sharon Kunkel,
Kameron Hodgens, Mary Beth Bos, Daniel Hodous, Stephanie Grosskreutz, Bob Rosinsky, Lou Bertha McKenzie Wharton, Graci McGillicuddy, Kyla Weiner, Beth Jacobson and Sandy Young, among others.
Guests were welcomed by Sue Stewart, CEO of Girl Scouts of Gulfcoast Florida, who noted that all three hosting   organizations are "poised to create positive change in our community."
Goodwill's Veronica Brandon Miller added her greetings, noting that this year's LBDs were reused and redesigned, and enhanced with a pop of color - in the form of hats, sashes and brightly colored shoes. She also noted that people bringing their gently used items to Goodwill has kept 41 million pounds of refuse out of area landfills.
Junior League President Britt Riner said that the Junior League was thrilled to join Goodwill and the Girl Scouts and were anxious to be "role models - not just models - for the girls. In a way, we're like grown-up Girl Scouts," she said.
Following lunch, a video was shown of each Junior League model being interviewed by a a Girl Scout who they were paired with for the experience.
Models included: Britt Riner, Jeanne Paulus, Jennie Baumberger, Kelly Baldwin, Keri Kuhn, Lindsay Gartrell, Liz Cotner, Marissa Rossnagle, Melissa Howard and Natalie Lawry. Girl Scout "media mavens" included: Allison Carchio, Emily Mayo, Gabriella Stafford, Megan Simpson, Emily Amado, Kaitlyn Peters, Victoria Martinez, Olivia Yagy, Faith Holliday and Kaila Stafford.
At next year's event, women veterans will be paired with the Girl Scouts at the third annual Little Black Dress - with a Pop of Patriotism event on July 14.
