It was a "Harvest of Voices" at Key Chorale's annual luncheon at Michael's On East.
The 31st annual event began with a silent auction that drew a lot of attention from guests including Susan Brainerd, Lee Dougherty Ross, Christine Jennings, Donna de Paolo, Hillary Steele, Aida Coleman, Phil and Candy Hoffman, Charlie Huisking, Renee Hamad and Debbi Benedict, among others.
Welcoming guests were Board Chair Lee Holden, Executive Director Catherine Vernon, Artistic Director Joseph Caulkins and Richard Storm, who then presented the inaugural Perfect Pitch award to Dolly Jacobs-Reis for her many contributions to our cultural community.
Dolly, who recently received the National Endowment of the Arts Heritage Award, said that while that experience was wonderful, "receiving this award in my hometown where I was born and raised means as much or even more."
It was announced that in 2017, in conjunction with the Smithsonian, Cirque des Voix (a joint program by Circus Arts Conservatory and Key Chorale), will be performed on the mall in Washington, D.C.
Following lunch, guests were treated to a performance by the Sarasota High School Chamber Choir, under the direction of Kirby Sanders, which was then joined by members of Key Chorale for a performance of "The Awakening."
